These animals have an extremely unusual appearance, and it consists in the amazing structure of the ears - they are bent back, and the tips are decorated with chic tassels. Cat history

It is safe to say that not only the appearance of this breed is unusual - the history of origin is the same. Around 1981, in California, a family of farmers saw a beautiful cat with an interesting appearance, after which a firm decision was made - to take the pet home. She was given a beautiful name - Shulamith. It was this kitten that later became the ancestor of the breed called the American Curl. In the same year when the kitten was found, she brought four kittens - all of them had different colors. A few days later, as soon as the kittens were a little older, the owners of the animal noted an amazing fact: in all kittens, the ears turned back, just like their mother. Pets were handed out to people who gave their consent to continue to breed animals.

After a couple of years, CFA experts confirmed that the animals have truly unique traits that are inherited. From that moment on, the breed was registered, kittens attended exhibitions, they began to be seriously selected. Now breeding is carried out by mixing curls with cats that have similar features, or with representatives of cats, which are purebred representatives of the breed. It is through such a solution that it is possible not only to maintain the highest quality of offspring, but also to create a variety of colors - they are also highly appreciated by breeders.

Appearance standards

Cats have a heavy skeleton, but they are quite slim. The weight of an adult cat reaches 7 kilograms, cats are lighter - up to 5 kilograms. Males are slightly different from females: they have large cheeks and a wide forehead. The muzzle simply cannot but delight: the pets are very pretty, have large and smart eyes.

Appearance:

• the head has smooth corners, while it has the shape of a wedge;
• eyes are almond-shaped, set slightly obliquely;
• nose of moderate length, slightly raised, starting from the eyes and ending with the forehead;

• the distance between the eyes corresponds to the size of the eye;

• eye color has nothing to do with coat color, it can be anything but blue.

If possible, go to a specialized store and buy a special nail clipper. But you need to remember that you will have to deal with clipping claws regularly - once a month. Now quite popular (but not humane for everyone) is the procedure for the complete removal of claws - they do it in a specialized veterinary clinic, under general anesthesia. After the operation, the cat will recover for about a week, but you can forget about the claws once and for all.
3. Cats need to brush their teeth. To do this, pre-purchase a paste with a brush - the procedure needs to be done every 3 days, and the animal will need to be trained in this process from childhood.
4. Ear cleaning should not be forgotten either. A cotton pad and specialized liquid - and you can remove plaque without any problems. Also for this purpose, you can use ordinary wet wipes for children.

Sometimes you can pamper the cat with canned food - but too often this does not need to be done due to the fact that such products are not particularly useful.

So, if you really care about the nutrition of your pet, you want him to remain cheerful, cheerful and beautiful for a long time, in which case special attention should be paid to the following natural products:

• cereals - rice, buckwheat are suitable here;
• boiled varieties of lean meat - beef, chicken, rabbit;
• boiled low-fat fish;
• dairy products - kefir, fermented baked milk;

• rarely - canned fish and meat;
• sometimes you can pet your favorite cottage cheese.

But the food from our table is absolutely not suitable for the cat. If you plan to feed the cat scraps of fish, leftovers of fried potatoes or skins from lard - it is better to refuse to buy a pet, so you only ruin his health.
