Every woman dreams of healthy facial skin, in order to use cosmetics to a minimum and not bother with wellness procedures. But not everyone, by nature, gets only the best, and then you have to restore the skin in every way so that the face remains young and fresh for as long as possible. Indeed, on over-dried skin and wrinkles are more noticeable, and makeup does not fit well. That is why it is important to know how to care for such skin.
Dry Skin Care Principles
To care includes not only the selection of cosmetics, but also the ritual of washing and wiping the skin. When you are late somewhere, you often hastily wash with the first water that has flowed from the tap, wipe it roughly so that it is faster and you do not even have time to apply a moisturizing cream. Of course, in single such cases, a catastrophe is unlikely to happen, but constant such care leads to peeling and dryness.
Any cosmetologist and just a woman who knows how to take care of herself will bring three principles of healthy skin:
- cleansing;
- nutrition;
- moisturizing.
The listed procedures require not only overdried and sensitive skin, but each of its types, but there are some differences in the composition of cosmetics. Usually on the package with cosmetics it is indicated for which type it is better to use it, you just need to carefully select it.
What is included in the cleansing procedure
Do not be too zealous when wiping the skin. It will be enough just to get wet with a well-absorbing towel. Friction with hard tissue adversely affects sensitive skin, so soft terry products should be preferred.
You should abandon the use of toilet soap, and purchase a special gel or milk. They have a mild cleansing effect and do not deprive the skin of natural moisture. Cosmetics are best removed with an alcohol-free tonic or milk. These funds are applied with a cotton pad and gently wipe the face, after you need to wash.
Deep skin cleansing is available with various scrubs or masks. For the dry type, it is preferable to use gentle means. You can find a fairly soft scrub, but for the skin it will be more useful to cook according to a home recipe. The basis is taken by finely ground oatmeal (not instant cooking), to which a pinch of soda and a little warm water are added to make gruel. It is necessary to rub in a circular motion into the problem areas of the skin of the face, and then rinse everything off.
Nutrition and Protection
Homemade products are best suited to nourish the skin. This is especially true for dryness caused by a change in cosmetics. Perhaps the unnatural composition causes irritation and, as a result, peeling.
Masks with natural vegetable oils in their composition can not only enrich the skin with vitamins, but also significantly improve the condition of the upper layer of the epidermis. Grape seed oil or almond oil is well suited for these purposes; you can still use the more affordable unrefined olive oil.
An additional ingredient may be honey, provided that there is no allergy. On a teaspoon of honey you need to take a tablespoon of oil, stir and apply for 10 minutes on the face.It is most convenient to remove such a mask with a soft cloth moistened with warm water. If you carry out the procedure at least once a week, then in a month the skin will look much healthier.
A mask with glycerin prevents not only dry skin, but also the appearance of early wrinkles. It is necessary to mix a teaspoon of glycerin and a tablespoon of any vegetable oil with warm water in the same amount, add a couple drops of ammonia to the mixture. The mask is applied to pre-cleansed skin and kept for about half an hour, and then washed with water at room temperature.
For deep nutrition of highly flaky skin, a mask of oatmeal, honey, natural vegetable oil and raw yolk is suitable. All ingredients are taken in approximately equal proportions and mixed well (pre-grind the flakes). The mask is applied with rubbing movements and left for about fifteen minutes, then washed off with slightly warm water. With regular use, the skin will stop drying out and will get a healthy shade.
You can protect your skin from the harmful effects of frost and wind with ordinary petroleum jelly. This tool creates a protective layer and ensures the preservation of moisture inside the layers of the epidermis. You just need to apply the product on the skin of the face before going outside in bad weather. You can use petroleum jelly all year round if the skin is subject to periodic peeling.
Moisturizing dry skin
Dryness can occur due to improper temperature conditions in the room, insufficiently humidified air or weathering. To give the skin a normal healthy look, you first need to bring the environment back to normal or reduce its negative impact to a minimum. For example, the temperature in the room should not exceed 20-21 ° C, and air humidity should fall below 40%.
In windy or frosty weather, you need to apply a cream with glycerin, which will protect the skin from chapping and further peeling (if Vaseline was not used). After each washing and cleansing, you should immediately use a moisturizer, it is desirable that the skin remains slightly moist. At least a couple of days a week, the skin needs to rest from cosmetics in order to restore its natural balance.
If the usual moisturizer can no longer cope, it’s worth trying twice a week to make masks according to home recipes with natural nutritional components. For example, oatmeal with raw vegetables will moisturize the skin well and give a healthy glow. To prepare such a mask, crushed oatmeal is mixed with finely grated potatoes and carrots. Apply the resulting mixture to the skin and hold for a quarter of an hour, then wash with warm water. After the mask, use a moisturizer.
The combination of cucumber juice and sour cream not only helps to get rid of dry skin, but also makes it more light and radiant. Fresh cucumber should be chopped without peel and mixed with oily (ideally homemade) sour cream, applied to the face for about fifteen minutes, then rinse.
Daily washing with whole milk will significantly improve the condition of dry skin. This product contains a large amount of vitamins and fats, which not only moisturize the skin, but also deeply nourish it, and prevent the appearance of dryness and wrinkles. Milk cleansers are well suited for the evening (after thorough removal of makeup), then it is not unnecessary to wash off a valuable product, and simply dab the residue with a napkin and then apply cream.
Proper care and individually selected cosmetics helps to maintain a healthy appearance of the skin, relieves it of dryness and peeling. Before using any new product purchased in a store, pharmacy or made independently, you need to test for sensitivity to its components in order to avoid irritation and deterioration.
