The problem of the appearance of burrs worries not only women, but also men. This is a rather unpleasant and painful neoplasm on the fingers, which is accompanied by superficial tears. With insufficient care, the burrs often develop into a full-fledged abscess that promotes the spread of bacteria and the development of infection. If we consider the appearance of burrs as normal, it is quite possible to earn a paronychia. This type of inflammation is a permanent fungus on the skin around the platinum of the nail.
Causes of Burr Formation
- Lovers of nail bites almost always have burrs. The constant effect of saliva softens the epidermis, and the slightest malocclusion of the skin around the plate contributes to the development of tumors.
- Detergents, which include aggressive components. Regular exposure makes the skin dry and rough, creating the basis for further burrs and cracks.
- Incorrect pedicure or manicure procedure. Not always the master can control the movements of his hands, the slightest mechanical damage by the device or forceps contributes to the formation of burrs after a day, or even less.
- Internal causes of burrs include diseases of the internal organs, hormonal imbalance, dysbiosis and poor nutrition.
How to get rid of burrs
- To eliminate inflammation, take vegetable or olive oil, moisten a cosmetic swab with it and attach to burrs. Fix in a convenient way (adhesive tape, electrical tape, bandage, adhesive tape), and then wait 15 minutes. After time, gently pat your skin with a paper towel. You can also use oily baby cream. At this stage, you need to calm the skin, in order to proceed with further manipulations.
- If you have large burrs, take a pair of nail scissors and carefully cut the painful triangle. For small formations, it makes sense to purchase special nippers with a sharp edge. Cut carefully, remove the forceps only after the burr has been cut, do not pull the skin. Next, treat the tear with hydrogen peroxide or chlorhexidine.
- After deburring, do regular manicure without cutting the cuticle. Move it with an orange stick or a special stylus. Before the procedure, moisten your hands in a solution of baby soap or use a bath of chamomile broth (400 ml of water is necessary for 40 grams of a plant).
- Those with burrs turned into a strong abscess should use antibacterial ointments. Get Panthenol, Dermozolone, Deperzolone, Geocorton, or Oxycort from your pharmacy. All remedies are healing, but they can not be abused. Before use, read the instructions, which indicate the frequency of use.
Practical tips
- If you are outside the house, and the burr begins to ache and bother a lot, cover it with a bactericidal breathing adhesive plaster.
- When using special deburring forceps, handle only the triangle itself without touching the skin around it.
- If the problem bothers you too often, always carry a healing ointment, peroxide, adhesive plaster, and manicure tweezers with you. Do not bite off the formation, so as not to provoke inflammation and the appearance of new burrs.
- Never pull the tool that removes tears. In their place there will be a large wound, it will last an extremely long time.
Preventive action
- See a doctor to check your body for vitamin deficiency.As a rule, problems with burrs and other skin inflammations appear due to a banal lack of vitamins. If you know for sure that your diet does not include a complete list of healthy foods, adjust the daily menu. Include foods that contain vitamins A, B, C, D and E, do not forget about omega acids. Get a badger or fish oil in capsules at the pharmacy; they are useful not only for the skin, but also for nails and hair. Drink a full course, which is usually 30–45 days.
- Buy ampoules with vitamin A and E, rub the solution into the burr and cuticle area every morning and evening, avoid contact with water for 3 hours after this procedure. The burrs will disappear in 1 week if applied 2 times a day.
- Always carry a moisturizer with you in the summer. At the slightest dryness, immediately apply it to the skin. In winter, use special anti-frost agents that will rid the skin of peeling, cracks and burrs. It is important to know that in winter, nourishing and moisturizing products are applied 25 minutes before going outside. In summer, you can use them directly outside the house in the absence of wind. Choose products that include beeswax, lanolin, glycerin and essential oils.
- If by nature of service you have to regularly switch from cold to heat, purchase oil-based products that are applied to the top of the brush. As an alternative, you can use natural oils and cover them with only burrs.
- Drink at least 3 liters of fluid per day. Due to lack of moisture, the skin suffers first. Remove spicy, salty and floury dishes from the menu that trap fluid in the body. If you find overdried skin, in no case do not bite them! The same goes for the free edge of the plate. Constantly biting off nails is just as addictive as smoking.
- Wear gloves when washing floors, dishes, and other household tasks involving harsh chemicals. To prevent hands from sweating, use the most common baby talcum powder. Choose fragrance-free or chamomile products. Pour the compound into gloves, shake them thoroughly, then put on safely.
- Do the right manicure regularly. First, hold your hands in warm soapy water or a sage broth, then proceed with the procedure. Many girls cut the cuticle, which is not visible at all, thereby injuring the fingers. If you have minor lesions around the nail, do not touch them. Otherwise, do not use forceps, but thin manicure scissors. They do not cut off the skin so much and do not leave neoplasms when used improperly. Before removing the cuticle, always move it with a spatula or a special stylus to the base of the nail.
For regular hydration, use healing hand baths. We list the most effective of them:
- chamomile, birch bark, sage;
- yarrow, ginseng ether, lemon peel;
- oak bark, linden, rose flowers;
- tea with jasmine, aloe, burdock root;
- echinacea, dandelion, wild rose;
- lavender, calendula, primrose;
- rosemary, ginseng, geranium ether.
Preparing a decoction is quite simple, since all of the listed herbs are mixed in the same proportions and poured with boiling water in a ratio of 50 g. plants per 500 ml. water. After this, the mixture cools to an acceptable temperature and 12 drops of ethers are added to it. The exposure time ranges from 10 to 20 minutes, not more.
Important Tips
- Once a month, visit the master so that he does not trim, but hardware manicure / pedicure.
