How to open a car without a key: 5 ways

Each car owner can get into a situation when the car doors are locked and the keys remain in the cabin. In the absence of a spare key, opening a car without special tools is difficult. Do not worry, because there are methods that can help solve the problem.

We open the door with improvised means

First way
Many foreign-made cars have a modern security system. It works as follows: if the door is locked, it will be able to open it from inside the cabin. To do this, pull the handle twice. This method is based on the use of soft wire. From it you need to make a simple tool. To do this, find a piece of wire one and a half meters long. Bend the end with a hook, which will catch on the inner handle that opens the door.

After making the fixture, consider how to increase the clearance between the upper door rib and the body. Usually, a thin plank, flat screwdriver or chisel is used for this. The main thing is to wrap the tool with tape or cloth, this will prevent scratches on the paint.

Bend the door carefully, being careful not to spoil the geometry. Make a small gap in the upper corner and insert a homemade tool into it. To get to the place, bend the wire at the desired angle. Clinging to the handle, it will unlock and open the door.

Second way
If the door is slammed shut, but the engine is running or the ignition is turned on, opening the door will be easy. All you need to do is get to the power window button. You should immediately warn that this method will not work if the engine is turned off.

You need to prepare a piece of sufficiently rigid wire, a pair of wooden wedges and a chisel. In order not to scratch the paint, wrap the equipment with a cloth or tape over the places on the body with which the tool comes in contact with tape.

Make a small gap in the upper corner between the body and the door. Insert the wire through it and get on the power window button. Having lowered glass, get access to the door opener.

Third way
This method will help to open not all doors, but only those that have a lock button protruding above the surface. To do this, you need to make a simple device. With the help of it it will turn out to cling to the button.

Find a thin rope or fishing line of sufficient length and make a loop in the middle, drawn out. Its size should be slightly larger than the thickness of the button. Insert the manufactured device into the narrow slot of the driver's door.

Fifth way
This method is one of a number of forced ones (if the other methods did not help or it is extremely urgent to get into the car and go). It consists in breaking the door window. Not every driver wants to use this method, because you have to buy a new glass, which is expensive. But as the only, saving option can be applied.

Prepare the glass. To do this, glue the window surface with masking tape. Thus, small fragments will not fly around the cabin from impact.

Take safety precautions. Protect your hand by wrapping it with a piece of cloth or a jacket. Before hitting, turn your head in the opposite direction so that the fragments do not accidentally hit the face.

Use a sturdy item. The window of the car door is made of tempered glass, so do not try to break it with your bare hands, as in a movie - this will lead to injury. Use any solid object: a stone, a piece of iron or a hammer. The blow must be applied to the center of the window with a sharp movement.

How to solve a problem without resorting to hacking

1. Take care in advance of making a copy of the key (without an immobilizer chip). Carry it with you in a purse or in conjunction with house keys. If next time the doors are locked you will be able to open the car.
2. Make a precise drawing of the key on paper with the thickness and details of the grooves. If you lose the spare key, you will be able to recover by making a new one. You can do it either yourself (from a piece of metal, just to open the door), or consult a specialist.
3. During frosty or wet weather, turn off the automatic lock of the locks. Electronics can fail at the most inopportune moment, causing a lot of problems.
4. When leaving the car without keys, open the window in advance. If the arming system works and the car locks, you can open the driver's door with your hand.
