How to clean leather gloves at home

But no matter how high-quality the product, in any case, you need to properly care for it to last a long time, and not to throw it in the trash after one season of operation. It is important to remember that dirt and dust adversely affect the skin, therefore, it is necessary to clean such gloves on time and correctly.

1. Cleaning on time is easier than throwing it away. Leather items are high-quality, but expensive, so it’s more economical to clean up dirt that has barely appeared than to start the product so that it remains only to dispose of it and buy a new one. Everything needs to be done on time!
2. If you are not sure that you can handle the pollution yourself, give the item dry cleaning. However, remember that not everywhere there are professionals who can cope with the dirt on the skin, and such treatment (even with just gloves) will cost a lot.
3. In a situation when you clean your gloves yourself, do not allow moisture to penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin: it deforms the thing beyond recognition. Only the surface of the product is cleaned!
4. Never iron leather things! Even from the wrong side! High temperature leads to “crowing” and deformation.

Cleaning Methods

Aqueous solution of ammonia

1. Dilute water and alcohol in a ratio of 4: 1.

3. Repeat the procedure until the cotton pads stop darkening from your manipulations.
4. Upon completion of cleaning, wipe the product with a cloth moistened with cool water.
5. Put the gloves on your hands until they dry completely: this will help the product maintain its shape.

Powder solution in hydrogen peroxide

1. Mix the powder and peroxide in a ratio of 1: 1. If the resulting mixture is too thick, add warm water or ammonia to it.
2. Using a cotton pad, apply the resulting mass on gloves and leave for five minutes - during this time all possible dirt from the surface will dissolve.
3. Remove the cleaning agent with a clean, damp cloth or cotton pad.

This method is not recommended for light or completely white gloves. The material from which they are made is much more sensitive than dark skin. From such experiments, the white material may become quite yellow.

Soap solution

1. Grate the soap on a grater and add the resulting crumbs to a small amount of water.
2. Then dip the gloves into the solution and quickly rub them together. If it is very dirty, you can leave the product in water for a couple of minutes, but do not forget that moisture should not completely absorb the skin.
3. Rinse the gloves under cool, clean water and wipe them as much as possible.
4. Put the gloves on your hands until they are completely dry so that they retain their shape.

This method of cleaning is also suitable for white gloves, but soap for washing must be selected exclusively in white: any other can easily fit into a light material and bloom with sloppy stains.

Folk cleansers

It’s simply impossible not to recall folk methods. Not only are they easy to use, but also the cleaning products you will always find in your refrigerator.

1. Milk. It is enough to wipe the gloves with cotton swabs dipped in milk until they stop darkening. This means that milk has removed all the dust, dirt and grease that has accumulated in the skin. After cleaning, wipe the product dry and put it on your hands until it is completely dry.
2. Egg. A very good way for fair skin gloves. Separate the yolk from the protein. The last beat with a mixer to a state of stable foam and apply to the surface. After a few minutes, remove the protein from the gloves and wipe them dry.
3. Bread crumb. A great way to clean colored items - they will not only become clean, but will also regain their former brightness. The bread crumb must be soaked in warm water or milk, then knead it, and cover the resulting mass with gloves with a napkin. After a few minutes, the composition is removed from the surface with a damp sponge.
4. Lemon juice. Just wipe the product with cotton dipped in lemon juice: this will remove dirt, dust and grease from the surface. Lemon juice has a whitening effect, so do not be afraid to clean light gloves in this way.
5. Onion. Cut the onion and rub the resulting area with a cut. As the flesh darkens, renew the slice. After this treatment, wipe the product with a damp sponge, washing off any residual dirt.

Forget about gas! No matter how effective such a cleaning method may seem to you, you don’t need to: because of this, your thing will smell disgusting for a very long time, because the smell of gasoline is very persistent and does not weather well.

How to clean the lining

• Carefully turn the product inside out.
• Rinse with a little water.
• Squeeze out a thing a little (do not twist with force!).
• Blot dry with a soft cloth.

Leave to dry in the turned state (not at heating devices!).
