How to clean a dishwasher at home

Over time, scraps of food, dirt, grease and other debris that needs to be removed accumulate in the cavity of the dishwasher. Paradoxical as it may sound, the technique will last you longer if you use it regularly. It is not recommended to clean the cutlery several times a month, wanting to save on electricity, detergents and water. The device must be turned on at least once every 2-3 days, so that excess formations do not accumulate in the nodes and assemblies.

Dishwasher Cleaning Technology

It is not necessary to call a specialist to clean the dishwasher. You can carry out the procedure yourself, clearly following the instructions.

Step number 1. Filter and grill cleaning
Processing technology begins with cleaning the strainer. Step number 4. Cleaning the basket and the dead zone
Take out the plastic baskets, place them in the sink or bath. Apply dishwashing detergent to the sponge, spread over the cavity, wait a quarter of an hour. At the end of the period, rub with a brush, rinse with hot water and dry with a towel.

How to clean the dishwasher from rust and mold

Visible impurities include grease, mildew and rust.

Mold is removed using industrial bleach, but the process itself adversely affects stainless steel parts and assemblies. For this reason, it is highly recommended not to start the equipment to such a deplorable state. Nevertheless, if this fact takes place, proceed to the procedure. Wear safety glasses and gloves, spread the gel bleach onto the rubberized sponge, and wipe all areas affected by the fungus. Remove residues with water, wash the machine with a dishwashing liquid.

In addition to cleaning products, scale can be removed using folk remedies such as vinegar, borax and citric acid.

1. Vinegar. First, turn on the appliance for a full wash with the addition of a special tool for PMM, wait until the program ends. To get rid of scale, use a 9% vinegar solution, not the essence. 3. Lemon acid. The composition is considered universal: a loose mixture removes not only scale, but also rust, grease, mold, foreign inclusions. Correctly determine the required amount of citric acid will help visual inspection of the machine. If the scale is within the minimum or average mark, take 200-300 gr. In cases where the rate is too high, it will take 300-400 gr. Pour citric acid into the detergent drawer, start an intensive wash cycle, wait until the program ends.After that, carry out another rinse, but without using any means.

"Antinakipin"
After descaling with one of the selected methods, make sure that the machine is securely protected. For preventive purposes, you need to use the product "Antinakipin", which is sold in hardware stores. The composition is available in the form of a gel, it is used according to the instructions during washing dishes. If the PMM has a function to reduce water hardness, turn it on in the background.

Special Dishwasher Cleaners

Regularly clean the dishwasher to avoid unpleasant odors, grease, etc.

1. Fairy Manufacturers of such equipment recommend cleaning the device with a composition designed specifically for washing PMM. Prefer the gel "Fairy" or "Fairy Platinum". The latter option is good because the product is available in the form of tablets with the addition of salt, which soften water, prevent corrosion and scale.
2. "Finish". The next manufacturer to produce cleaners for PMM. The advantage of this tool is considered to be its high efficiency and economy. One application is enough to clean the equipment a month in advance (the frequency varies from 1-2 times in 40 washing cycles). The composition is available in 250 ml bottles. The cleaning method is quite simple: remove all the dishes, remove the sticker from the bottle, place in the basket for appliances, start the machine.

The performance of the dishwasher directly depends on proper care and operating conditions.
