How to clean a silicone phone case

The life of a modern person is hard to imagine without a phone. Constant calls to work, intimate conversations with friends, solving pressing issues - all this requires communication from a distance. In addition to the gadget, designers have developed a phone case that protects the case and gives the product an aesthetic appearance. The silicone nozzle does not burden the smartphone, but it quickly gets dirty, losing its former beauty. Hence the need to clear the security attribute in all possible ways, which we will talk about today.

Wet processing silicone case

The main disadvantage of a silicone case is considered to be its impracticality. It's all about the material, which absorbs dirt perfectly, leaving it in its structure. For this reason, do not use hard materials that can deform the product.

Do not wash the silicone cover with iron washcloths, chlorine-based products, products with large abrasive particles, carpet brushes. Do not try to scrape off the contamination with a knife, sandpaper, scissors, screwdriver.

Sharp objects deform the structure, as a result of which dust and dirt will be eaten into the surface. Chlorine will lead to clouding of the transparent cover and the appearance of yellow spots on white products.

Necessary materials:

• sodium borate (in common "borax");
• pure cotton fabric;
• water;
• foam sponge;
• soft hard toothbrush;
• gel for washing dishes;
• medical (ethyl) alcohol.

Cleaning technology

1. Remove the mobile phone from the case. Moisten a cotton cloth in water and wipe off the protective case.
2. Take a foam sponge, apply a little dishwashing liquid to the soft side, wipe the cover.
3. Dip a clean rag in industrial alcohol and treat complex contaminants, if any.
4. In cases where stains are difficult to remove, prepare a solution for soaking.
5. Pour dishwashing gel and sodium borate solution in a 2: 1 ratio into a bowl.
6. Dip the cover into the prepared mixture, cover the container with plastic wrap, leave for 1-1.5 hours.
7. At the end of time, rub the accessory with a soft-bristle brush, removing any residual dirt, rinse with water.

Important!
Do not use a hard toothbrush so as not to disturb the structure of the product. Some types of contaminants are removed using a conventional eraser (school gum) or melamine sponge for home care.

Effective ways to clean a silicone case

Do not bring the silicone case to a deplorable state, clean it once every 7-10 days. Stubborn stains are extremely difficult to remove, while the removal of fresh contaminants does not require much time and effort. Before using your favorite composition, try cleaning the product with laundry soap or an alcohol-based wet towel.

1. Professional stain remover. Use bleaching agents that are free of chlorine. Before buying, carefully study the column "Composition" for compliance with this requirement. Next, distribute the required amount of the drug on the surface of the cover on both sides, wait 5-10 minutes (the exact exposure time is indicated in the instructions). At the end of all procedures, wash the accessory with running water.
2. Baking soda. Prepare a pasty mass from baking soda and water. In the end, you will get an effective composition with gentle (small) abrasive particles. Scoop a little funds on the foam sponge, distribute to the place of pollution, wait a quarter of an hour. After the expiration date, rub the cover with a sponge, rinse off the excess with water.Repeat if necessary.
3. Pure gasoline. To clean the silicone case, you can use clean gasoline, which is used to refuel lighters. A composition with a relatively high octane rating (AI-95, AI-98) is also suitable. Dampen a cotton pad in it, wipe the surface of the accessory. Pay due attention to complex contaminants. At the end of the process, treat the product with ammonia or lemon juice to eliminate possible odors. According to a similar scheme, kerosene is cleaned.
4. Nail polish remover. The composition, universal in its characteristics, is suitable for cleaning transparent silicone covers. It is not recommended to treat the painted and colored accessories with the solution in order to avoid pigment fading. Choose a drug without acetone, before use, conduct a preliminary test in an area invisible to the eyes. Regarding the processing of the entire surface of the cover, make it moistened with a cosmetic swab and cotton swabs.
5. Toothpaste. The cleaning technology is designed for transparent and white cases. Moisten the accessory with running water, apply a small amount of paste on the surface of the product. Rub the composition with your fingers. Wait about 10 minutes, then use a toothbrush to better remove dirt. At the end of the procedure, rinse the cover with warm water to avoid streaks.
6. Lemon acid. The method relates to extreme types of processing, is highly effective in combating stains and blackening. Dilute 1 packet of citric acid in boiling water, wait until the crystals are completely dissolved. After that, moisten the cosmetic sponge and wipe the silicone case. If contamination is not eliminated immediately, wait 5-10 minutes. When the acid has corroded the dirt, remove the residue with running water.
7. Ink Remover. A drug store is sold in an office supply store that helps remove stains from ink, pens, felt-tip pens from clothing and furniture upholstery. Take advantage of this. Soak a cosmetic sponge in the solution, wipe the cover on both sides, leave for half an hour (the exact time is indicated in the instructions). After that, wash the accessory with running water, repeat the procedure again if necessary.
8. Bleach. The use of bleach as a cleaning agent adversely affects the condition of the product. The cover can acquire a pronounced yellow hue, the material will become stiff, due to which it will begin to crumble. Clouding of the accessory (in the case of colorless products), loss of brightness and brilliance are also possible. To carry out the procedure correctly, put on rubber gloves, moisten a cloth in bleach (Domestos, Vanish, Boss, etc.), then wipe all the necessary areas. After the product has returned to its original form, immediately rinse it with water.

To avoid exposure to aggressive substances on the silicone base, try not to carry your smartphone in your jeans pocket, which quickly stains the surface.
