Faux fur is washed independently at home. This is one of his virtues. It is impossible to give universal cleaning recommendations, because the synthetic fiber of which the fur is made has different lengths and structures. Pretreatment of fur before washing

Before proceeding directly to washing the fur product, it is necessary to remove local contaminants, dried and hard to remove stains.

Types of pollution:

1. Yellow spots on white fur. The disadvantage of fur in light shades is its tendency to become covered with yellow coating and lose its snow-white. If local spots are visible that clearly stand out against the general background, then before washing the artificial fur should be wiped with a cotton pad with a solution of hydrogen peroxide in the ratio of 1 tablespoon of liquid peroxide per liter of water. 2. Strong pollution of unknown origin. It can be dried chewing gum, stains from oil perfumes. Purified gasoline (sold in household goods) and starch make gruel. You need very few ingredients, a spoonful of one, a spoonful of the second. The mass is applied to the dirt, rubbed a little, and the fur is left to dry. It is better to do this on the balcony so that the smell of gasoline does not bother anyone. Then the fur is shaken off, and the pulp is knocked out of the fur.
3. The coarse fur on the cuffs. The fur on the folds (cuffs, collars) quickly wears out, wipes and becomes dense and stiff. The situation will be corrected by a 2-phase treatment using a solution of salt and an oil emulsion. At the 1st stage, dilute 2 tablespoons of table salt in a liter of water. Put the solution on the coarse fur and rub it with your hands, moving in different directions. The procedure is repeated several times, after which the fur is wiped with an oil solution (100 grams of castor oil + 20 drops of ammonia and a liter of water). The place of application is covered for 2-3 hours with cling film, after which it is removed, and the fur is combed with a comb.
4. The fur fell in the rain, was not well dried, and the pile lost shape, began to curl and faded. In this case, the treatment of the fur with the help of an alcohol-free hair product with keratin will help. After the fur has been washed, it is dried, a hair product is applied and combed with a comb. The fur will gain smoothness and luster.

How to wash fur in a washing machine

You can wash the fur in the washing machine if it has a thick and short pile. If the pile is long, mechanical washing will hopelessly ruin it. In addition, fur products can not be dried in a centrifuge, otherwise it will be remembered and burst out of clothes.

Top-loading washing machines are better for washing fur. Half fill the water, pour in a liquid detergent for silk and delicate fabrics. After 20 minutes, turn on the rinse. After the machine stops working, remove the fur. Do not twist it, let the water drain itself. Spread the fur on the ironing board. Better put it on the balcony and turn the product until it is completely dry. When it decreases in weight, you can hang it by the shoulders on a clothesline.

If you wash in a front-loading machine (round window), you do not need to soak it first. Select the “delicate soaking” mode and wait 20 minutes, no more. Then dry the fur.

How to wash fur manually

It is preferable to wash fur products by hand.To do this, fill the bathtub with warm (not hot) water and dissolve the liquid detergent. Even baby soap will do. The main thing is that it be careful of delicate fabrics, because the pile has a porous brittle structure.

Shake the fur a little with your hands, but not too actively. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. If you leave for half an hour or more, the fur will let out color. Be careful!

Remove the fur from soapy water. Drain the water and pour clean, cool water. Rinse the fur. Make 2-3 calls.

After rinsing, wrap the product in a terry towel and squeeze through it. Lay out the fur in the bathroom on stools or a wire rack so that the glass water from it. Only after that take the fur out to dry on the balcony. You can brush it with a brush. To make the fur shine, treat the surface with hair shine products.
