Plastic windows have become an integral part of modern life, although they appeared in it not so long ago. They are easier to care for than wooden, while they look no less beautiful and presentable. And yet, despite the simplicity and ease of use, they also need to be washed. At least twice a year, and with severe and rapid pollution, even more often. In general, wet cleaning is indispensable. But how to conduct it so that the windows not only sparkle, but also retain a radiant appearance for a long time, and at the same time there would be no rainbow spots and stains on the surface, we’ll talk today.

Plastic windows: a bit of history

It is difficult to imagine modern life without plastic windows, but in fact they came to our life not so long ago. In essence, this part of the house is considered the main source of heat loss. It is not surprising: a large area, poor sealing, the presence of cracks and cracks in the profile itself - all individually or in combination, leads to this problem. This statement is especially true in relation to wooden options. In part, it was for the sake of combating the loss of warm air that plastic windows were invented.

You only need to follow a few simple rules:

1. Wash windows only in cloudy weather when direct sunlight does not fall on them. Otherwise, the appearance of unsightly rainbow stains is guaranteed.
2. Pick up a special washing liquid for glasses. We will not advise the brand: for each person, the one that is more convenient and easier to use becomes better for him. And the not-so-advertised “Mr. Muscle” may be right for you.
3. Use microfiber. Such a rag has a special structure that absorbs detergent very easily and does not leave any stains when wiped. With it, window cleaning is simplified to the maximum.
4. When choosing a detergent, pay attention to its composition. If alcohol enters - excellent. It is he who instantly evaporates from the surface, provides perfect purity and radiance.
5. Never use abrasive products! It will scratch the surface, permanently spoiling the appearance of the window, as well as worsening its performance.

The main secret is to wash correctly and correctly. Stock up on all the necessary tools and substances:

1. Sponge. It is needed if you decide to pre-rinse the glass with water, as well as to clean the frames and accessories.
2. Detergent. It must be selected individually. We have already stated the basic requirements above.
3. Microfiber. It will come in handy at the final stage of washing.

Before starting the procedure, tidy up the windowsill. Nothing should stand on it, remove all flowers, vases, etc. We start washing with the dirtiest parts. Usually it is a cornice, external parts of frames, gaps in double-glazed windows. All of them can be washed with soap and water, and quite quickly. The hardest part is glass. Here proceed from the degree of pollution.

If it is high, then rinse with water and wipe dry. If the windows are not very dirty, then you can do without the described procedure. We recommend a simple method: take the liquid, evenly distribute it first on the upper half of the glass. Quickly wipe with microfiber, make sure that the rag is clean and dry. Then also process the remaining lower half. Usually this is enough to make the glass look perfectly transparent and shining.

If the surface is very dirty, then first we advise you to thoroughly wash it with warm water and soap, then wipe it dry and only then treat it with a special cleaning agent and microfiber.

Now let's talk about fittings. If not properly looked after, she can quickly become unusable and begin to wedge. By the way, this is a fairly common problem with plastic windows, so wash it gently, process every detail, while using a soft sponge or rag. Be sure to ensure that the surface is dry after wet processing. Excess moisture can also damage the mechanisms inside the frame.
