Barley is considered to be a storehouse of vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Groats of this kind are not very popular, unlike rice and buckwheat, but in vain. A simple way to cook pearl barley

Soak barley cooking

- When the indicated time is up, drain the liquid. Pour water into the pan again, bring to a boil. Pour the soaked pearl barley, at this stage, you do not need to salt. Stir the porridge frequently. Typically, the cooking time is 25 minutes.
- After this time, taste the porridge. If the grains are well boiled, turn off the burner, drain the remaining water. Add butter, salt, cover. For the best effect, wrap the container with a thick towel, insist barley for half an hour.
Barley cooking in 2 stages

- After the specified period expires, filter the cereal through a sieve or colander, cover and let stand for half an hour. Pour another 1 liter into another pan. water, bring to a boil.
- Pour the barley, cook it for about half an hour, periodically checking the readiness "for taste". When the mass swells, turn off the heat, drain the water and salt. Add oil, knead until smooth.
- Cover the container with a lid, wrap with a blanket, leave for 1 hour. During this period, the porridge will reach the desired consistency and will be ready for use.
Cooking barley in a thermos

- To prepare pearl barley in this way, you need to take a thermos with a volume of 1 liter or more. The technique does not require careful control from the outside, you can cook cereals anywhere.
- Wash the grains, drain the excess liquid, salt and let stand for 20 minutes. Add butter to the bottom of the thermos, send the barley to the cavity and pour boiling water almost to the top.
- Cork, vigorously shake the container so that the oil melts and spreads evenly. To cook porridge in a thermos, you need to withstand cereals for 5 hours.After this period, it will be ready for use.
Microwave cooking barley

- Choose a container that can withstand heating in the microwave. Move the barley into it, fill it with water again. The liquid should rise 1.5 times above the grains.
- Salt the porridge, cover, put in the microwave. Turn on the device maximum power, set the timer for 6 minutes.
- After 2 minutes, reduce power exactly 2 times. Remove the barley, mix and send again to languish. Cook for 25-35 minutes, periodically put the microwave on pause and mix the composition.
- When the specified time has passed, evaluate the porridge for taste. If the grains are hard and raw, add a little boiling water, boil the dish for another 5-7 minutes until cooked.

Oven barley cooking

- Rinse the barley and soak it in filtered water overnight. After the morning awakening, drain the used liquid, prepare clay pots for porridge.
- Pack cereals on them, pour boiling water over them so that the water rises 3-4 cm above the grains. Do not close the pots, heat the oven to a temperature of 210-220 degrees, put the dishes inside.
- After 10 minutes, reduce the power to 200 degrees, simmer the croup for 45 minutes. Next, remove the finished dish, supply it with butter, granulated sugar (optional), salt.
- You can cover the dishes and let the pearl barley brew for about half an hour. During this period it will cool, become juicy and creamy. Oatmeal and flax porridge are prepared in a similar way.
Cooking barley in a double boiler
- pearl barley - 245 gr.

- If you do not have a double boiler, you can use a rice cooker. The technical characteristics of the listed household appliances are almost identical, so the final result will not change.
- To get started, clear the pearl barley from a whitish coating by washing it under the tap. Throw the grains into a colander, let the excess liquid drain. After this, fill the groats with water, cover and leave for 3 hours to soak.
- Drain, place the barley in a double boiler, fill with water in a ratio of 1: 3. Cover, turn on the function "Cooking" or "Porridge". The cooking time is 1 hour.
- If you do without soaking, it will take about 2 hours to cook. After turning off the timer, do not rush to open the lid, wait half an hour. Next, fill the porridge with oil, salt, proceed to the tasting.
Cooking barley in a slow cooker

- When the barley is wet, drain the water, send the composition to the slow cooker. Pour filtered liquid in a 1: 3 ratio. It is advisable to pre-grease the cavity of the bowl with butter so that the porridge does not burn.
- Close the lid, set the function "Buckwheat", "Porridge" or "Cooking". If you have an automatic multicooker with the available modes, the time will be selected independently.Otherwise, turn on the device for 1-1.5 hours.
- After turning off the timer, salt the pearl barley porridge, add the butter and sugar (if you like it). Stir the dish, cover and let it brew for 20 minutes.
Barley is appreciated for its taste and high content of useful enzymes, which have a beneficial effect on the activity of all internal organs.
