A bouquet of roses, presented by a beloved guy, can become the basis for anti-aging and anti-cellulite oil. Red and white inflorescences contain components that regenerate the skin, heal burns and arouse desire. But how to extract nutrients from petals at home? Pickle roses in special formulations.
Main components
Healing oil is advised to make from flowers grown in your own garden. Wild roses and even rosehip inflorescences will do. Shop bouquets are often treated with various chemicals to keep them fresh longer. But the roses bought from grandmothers who are selling near the metro are suitable for preparing a fragrant extract.
Only the workpiece should be fresh. The base for the oil is advised to be collected in the early morning, preferably before dawn. In the petals, covered with dew drops, a high concentration of essential substances. Only the tops will be needed, cutting the stems is not necessary.
Roses are soaked in vegetable oils. Preference is given to options with a subtle aroma. Sunflower is not suitable, it is better to take olive or corn. You can use peach or almond, but they can interfere with the aroma of roses.
Some recipes use cotton wool. The workpiece is removed from the packaging in advance and left for several hours on a plate or blank sheet of paper. Vata should lie in the open air so that the hospital smell disappears from it, otherwise it will mix with the scent of roses, and you get something in between the antiseptic and essential oil.
Ingredient preparation
The collected flowers are immediately soaked until they have lost their beneficial properties. The longer the bouquet was, the less essential substances in it. The petals are separated from the green base, put in a colander and washed with running water to get rid of small bugs, dust and cobwebs.
The pink blank is dried on a paper towel. While the moisture evaporates, you need to prepare a jar for insisting oil. The container is rinsed with detergent and sterilized in the microwave or steamed. Heat treatment destroys bacteria that can provoke fermentation and spoil the cosmetic product. In addition, oil with germs causes inflammation and rashes on the skin.
The bottles in which the pink extract will be stored are also recommended to be disinfected. Both cans and bubbles should have tight lids that do not allow air to pass through. Ideal if the containers are made of dark glass. The cosmetic product is afraid of ultraviolet radiation and oxygen and, upon contact with them, loses its beneficial properties.
Sweet option
If the pink extract is intended for the preparation of scrubs and balsams, olive oil can be replaced with sugar. You will get a thick syrup with a rich aroma, which is suitable for internal use.
You will need a liter jar, 500-600 g of sweetener and 3 times more petals. For this option, roses are advised to be mixed with wild rose, because a wild plant contains ascorbic acid.
250-300 g of sugar are poured onto the bottom of the container. The layer should be 1-1.5 cm high. Then the jar is filled with cleaned and dried petals. Tamp the billet well with a wooden spoon. The height of the pink layer is 5–6 cm. On top of the aromatic plant is covered with the remaining sugar. Tamping or shaking is not necessary.
The container with the future extract is clogged, hidden from the sun. Candied petals insist 2.5-3 months. During this time, the sweetener absorbs juice and essential substances. Then the thick mass is separated from the plant base.Sweet extract is stored no longer than 3-4 months, be sure to refrigerate.
Cold and warm ways
An extract from roses infused with vegetable oil is added to face creams and handmade soaps. It will take 2 cups of petals and approximately 150-200 ml of a liquid base. Flower extract is prepared in two ways.
In the first embodiment, the oil is not heated. The jar is filled with clean petals, lightly tamped so that the roses let juice out, and fill in the base. The sealed container is hidden for 20 days in a cool and dark place. After a day, the petals are removed and shaken so that they mix with the plant ingredient.
The pink extract is filtered using gauze. The flower base is carefully wrung out. Fragrant oil is divided into several small portions and poured into bottles with tight caps. An extract of roses is stored for about 5 months, but only in the refrigerator. In a warm room, the extract quickly loses its beneficial properties.
If you need an oil with a rich odor, resort to the second method. The olive or almond base is adjusted in a steam bath to 50–70 degrees. Hot product is poured into fresh petals. 2.5-3 cups of herbal ingredient are taken per 200 ml of oil.
The workpieces are mixed in a glass container. Cork and hide from the sun for 2 days. The jar should be warm. Then the oil is filtered, the petals are carefully squeezed. The olive base is reheated, but only up to 45-50 degrees. A new portion of fresh roses is poured with liquid. The procedure with insisting and replacing the petals is repeated 10 to 15 times. They stop when the oil gets a very strong and concentrated smell.
The shelf life of the obtained extract is from 3 to 5 months. An extract of roses is added to the cream for the face or body, as well as to massage oil. A cosmetic product can replace toilet water.
Emergency ways
How to get flower extract in 10 days? Use sterile cotton. You will need a clean liter jar, 1-2 cups of petals and some olive oil. Half of the glass container is cotton, and the second is the floral component. The workpiece is slowly poured with a cold liquid base. Oil should soak cotton wool and completely cover the petals.
A jar of pink extract is sent to the illuminated windowsill for 12 hours. Be sure to tightly clog so that the ether compounds remain inside. Flowers should be constantly in the sun. Ultraviolet heats the petals and triggers chemical reactions.
Every day, old plants are removed, replaced and discarded. And the jar is filled with new roses. Inflorescences are harvested at dawn. The procedure is repeated for 10-15 days. Duration depends on the variety of plants. The main thing is that the oil has a rich aroma.
On the last day, cotton wool is removed from the can along with the petals. Squeeze and discard, and the oil is poured into dark glass vials. The extract is hidden in the refrigerator.
Old bouquets of roses are not thrown away. Dried petals can be the basis for a rejuvenating and tonic essence. It will take 2.5-3 cups of the workpiece and about the same amount of almond oil. Flowers are poured into a glass bowl and poured with a liquid base. She should completely cover the roses. The workpiece is sent to a water bath and kept until the petals become transparent. The cooled and filtered essence is recommended to wipe the face at least 2 times a day. This tool saves the skin from wrinkles, peeling and replaces the winter cream.
It is impossible to get professional rose oil at home. But in a vegetable extract, cooked with your own hands, no less than trace elements and essential compounds. And to keep the flower extract longer, it’s advised to add a little tocopherol, which is a natural preservative.
