It often happens that when you receive a beautiful bouquet of roses as a gift, you want to extend his life not in a vase, but in growing a full-grown bush. Particularly skilled gardeners can carry out the entire process of growing a bush from a cut flower, without even thinking. What should beauty lovers do in such cases? In fact, it is worth noting that, before a full bush begins to show off under the windows in the country or in the house, at least two years will pass. Therefore, starting to grow roses from a cut flower, you need to be patient.
Stages that must be clearly observed when growing roses
- To wait for almost complete wilting of flowers in the bouquet is wonderful that you do not need to spoil the flower arrangement if you want to do gardening.
- After withering, it is necessary with a sharp knife to get rid of the leaves, buds and the flower itself, thus forming a stalk. Two or three buds should remain on each handle.
- Above the kidney 1 cm, you need to make an oblique cut. It is very important to strictly observe the specified distance, because if the stalk is longer, then it can dry out due to lack of moisture. Even if the plant has no leaves, the plant still needs water that evaporates from the surface. After wetting the slice with water, you need to treat it with dry potassium permanganate, and then make a strong solution of permanganate and soak the cuttings in it for a day.
- When planting the handle, pay attention: two to three buds should remain on the surface. As a fertilizer, it is best to use a wood-humus mixture, and sprinkle peat with sand on top. River sand is best suited, and cuttings need to be planted as deep as possible into the ground.
- To accelerate root formation, treatment with growth stimulants is carried out. Similar preparations are freely sold in flower shops.
- Next, you need a greenhouse effect, which can be achieved using a glass or plastic vessel mounted on top. The earth must be constantly wet. The handle, in turn, needs to be sprayed often.
- The root system will develop correctly and quickly if the first buds released by the plant are constantly removed.
- After the appearance of the first roots, spraying can be stopped, and the seedling itself should be aired. After a month, you can spend 1 dressing.
- After 1.5–2 months, the seedling can be moved to a pot. To do this, you need to make a mixture. Mix sand, humus and sod land in a ratio of 1x1x3 and fill it with a container. It must be remembered that the first winter for a young plant is a lot of stress and a very difficult moment. In this regard, in mid-autumn, a rose pot must be brought into the room. The temperature in which will be quite low - about 3-5 degrees.
- After a successful wintering, the cuttings will be strong and ready to land in the ground without shelter. In preparing the land for planting, you need to dig it and improve the nutrition of organic fertilizers.
- In the first year of the flower’s full life, open land should be carefully treated. First of all, this applies to colors that no matter how much you want to leave, but still, you need to delete. Everything is done in order not to draw strength from a still young bush.
When all the rules and tips are followed in the correct order and with special scrupulousness, after the first year, its root system will be strengthened almost completely. As a result of the efforts and the time spent, a stronger, lush rose will certainly delight with its luxurious flowering appearance.
If the rose bush is already under the window, but there is a desire to grow another one, then you can use this method.
In the summer, when the plant is in the midst of its buoy and releases young and strong shoots, it is necessary to cut one of them using a pruner at a small angle. Ideally, the selected shoot should be like a regular pencil, because it is precisely these seedlings that will withstand all the stresses necessary for full growth. Also, cut branches should be straight. Next, cut them into cuttings approximately 23 cm in length. Having removed all the leaves from the lower half, one can proceed to planting.
In open ground in a bright, sunny area you need to dig a trench and fill it with sand. We deepen the prepared stalk into the ground by two-thirds and fall asleep on top of black soil. While the process is unremarkable and the only thing left to do is trample the earth around the future rose bush and take care of sufficient watering for a complete and strong rooting. But, there is a little secret that makes this method unique. It is covered in ordinary potatoes. Before planting the stalk in the ground, it must be stuck in the potato. The root crop will take care to constantly maintain a moist environment for the seedling. Thanks to her, at the end of August, the cuttings will be completely ready for transplanting. Potatoes become the key to the fact that in the end you can get great quality planting material. Of course, all the potato sprouts need to be extracted.
