During the period of gestation, all women are subject to changes in taste preferences. Sometimes this phenomenon becomes so vivid that it becomes a surprise even for future mothers themselves. For example, there are times when women who previously had no addiction to alcohol, during pregnancy felt a very clear desire to drink beer or wine. And, if in the case of wine, champagne and stronger drinks, everything is simple and clear - you can’t use them during pregnancy, since they contain alcohol, but about beer there are many questions. Foam drink today is presented in two variations - with and without alcohol. In this regard, future mothers are wondering - is it possible to drink non-alcoholic beer during the gestation period?
Is it allowed to drink beer during the gestation period?
Any doctor, when answering the question - is it possible for pregnant women to drink beer, will categorically answer: “No”. Indeed, in such a period, a woman is contraindicated in the use of any drinks with a degree, since alcohol negatively affects the fetus. Firstly, it interferes with the normal formation of internal organs, and, secondly, it blocks the process of oxygen delivery to the baby in the womb.
Alcohol, or rather its components, very quickly overcome the placenta, which in this case is not able to protect the fetus from harmful effects. In addition, alcohol has a detrimental effect on the mother's body, enhancing her development of any existing diseases of a chronic nature. In a baby, with constant exposure to alcohol, addiction forms. In addition, drinks containing alcohol can provoke the development of defects in organs and systems or their inhibition in development. And in this case we are not talking about a bottle of alcoholic beverage. For the appearance of adverse effects, even one glass of an alcohol-containing composition will suffice. This is especially true for women who already have any pathologies in their bodies at the time of pregnancy.
It is also important to note that alcohol has a detrimental effect on the system "mother’s organism - the developing organism of the child", which contributes to the positive development of the unborn baby.
Is it possible to have non-alcoholic beer during pregnancy?
In general, ordinary alcoholic beer is made from four main components: hops, water, yeast and malt. In this case, various flavoring additives, which today are often added to many types of beer, are not considered. These ingredients are mixed and left under special conditions to begin the fermentation process. Fermentation results in the formation of alcohol. It is because of this component that beer is an unacceptable product for women.
As for non-alcoholic beer, it is made in a similar way and practically the same components. The proportion of alcohol that is formed in such a beer ranges from 0.2 to 1.5%. This content is negligible and can not have a negative effect on the body. However, do not rejoice. The fact is that in order to obtain such a small amount of alcohol in beer, manufacturers have to resort to additional methods of processing the product. For beer, as a rule, the double filtration method is used, the fermentation process is stopped at the very beginning, as well as the purification of the finished product.
All would be nothing, but all these techniques entail the impossibility of long-term storage of the product. As a result, the manufacturer has to resort to the use of preservatives to increase the shelf life of beer. It is for this reason that it is extremely undesirable for pregnant women to drink non-alcoholic beer, because the abundance of preservatives, flavorings and various "E" does not make the product useful, but rather, on the contrary, makes it harmful, and not only for pregnant women.
Many people use hot beer to treat cough. During pregnancy, this becomes relevant, since it is practically impossible to use drugs. However, experts even in this case do not recommend women in the state of pregnancy to drink beer. It is better to treat cough with decoctions and infusions on herbs, as well as rosehip infusion. Such techniques will help to carefully eliminate the cough, without harming the child.
If the desire to drink beer becomes too strong, you can drink half a glass of non-alcoholic beer. Of course, this is not worth doing often, but only in the most extreme cases. If beer is used to treat cough, you can warm up half a glass of the drink, and add a spoonful of honey to the loan.
Why is this harmful?
Drinking non-alcoholic beer, especially in large quantities during the period of gestation, is extremely undesirable. Today there is no reliable data on the effect of preservatives and other components on the body of a pregnant woman and unborn child. Particular attention should be paid to such a component as cobalt. It is necessarily present in non-alcoholic beer. The fact is that this element is able to provoke the occurrence of inflammatory processes. Cobalt negatively affects the digestive system, as well as the heart and blood vessels of the expectant mother. Any problems with a woman’s health negatively affect the baby’s body.
Many women worry that they drank beer at the very beginning of pregnancy, when they did not yet know that they were expecting a baby. In this regard, many say that in the very first days of pregnancy, the embryo still lives independently and does not depend on the mother's body. Further, after the appearance of the first delay, when the first trimester of pregnancy begins, the expectant mother already needs to monitor her diet and stop drinking alcohol.
