Growing Features
Vegetable crops planted in May, because cucumbers are very sensitive to frost. Variety cultivation is carried out in one of two ways: from seedlings or by laying seed directly into the soil in the beds or in the greenhouse.
When growing from seedlings, sowing seeds should be in containers filled with substrate. When three true leaves are formed, the sprouts must be transplanted into the soil. Seedlings should not be too close to each other.
The variety is highly sensitive to transplantation, for this reason, when using the seedling method, it is better to use peat pots. In this case, when the seedlings will be planted in a permanent place, it will not need to be taken out of the tank. In the soil decomposition of the peat pot will occur, it will become another source of organic fertilizer. This will exclude trauma to the root system.
Bushes should be planted in places with good lighting. When growing in film constructions, one to two square meters have from two to five plants, and on open beds - three to four. To form a strong bush, at the level of the third leaf you need to remove the shoot.
When planting seeds directly into the soil, the process of growing a hybrid variety will be much simpler. The only drawback of this method is that the ripening of the fruits occurs later by 1-1.5 weeks.
Before planting seedlings in the holes, ash or humus must be placed in them. Then the beds should be covered with film material to create a greenhouse effect. The film must be removed after the shoots appear.
It’s easy to take care of the plant. First of all, you need to regularly water the plantings with warm water twice or thrice a week. This is done in the evening hours. To ensure that moisture is distributed evenly, it is better to use the drip method of watering.
To fertilize this vegetable crop, it is preferable to use organic matter. To increase the amount of the crop, an additional application of potassium is recommended. An excess of organic fertilizers can have a negative effect on the condition of the plant. To additionally provide the culture with nutrients, it should be fertilized with complex means, which include nitrogen.
It is recommended to garter plants on trellises. Due to this, it will grow properly and receive a sufficient amount of oxygen.
