Under favorable climatic conditions and proper care from one bush, you can collect up to three kilograms of product. A distinctive feature of Ruby pepper is the special meatiness of the fruit. Ripe fruits turn dark red.
The variety has high palatability, as well as resistance to most diseases and pests. It can be quite successfully used for conservation, consumed fresh.
Landing
This crop is grown in seedlings. We will have to make efforts to grow high-quality planting material.
- First of all, seeds are selected. Pour them with a glass of water. Those seeds that come up can be considered a marriage. After that, it is necessary to carry out the hardening procedure in a non-concentrated solution of potassium permanganate. This procedure will help to avoid the appearance of fungal diseases in the future. It is necessary to start growing seedlings approximately 65 days before the expected moment of planting in open ground.
- Pepper seedlings are grown in small peat pots, since the root system develops rather slowly in plants. For the same reason, the seeds should not be too deep in the soil. It is advisable to add some sand to the seedling soil, this will make it more loose and allow the seeds to germinate faster. The first weeks of the pots cover with cling film to create a greenhouse effect.
- When growing in open ground, take into account the fact that this crop must be planted in places protected from the wind as much as possible, otherwise the plant will feel uncomfortable, the amount of yield will decrease significantly.
- It is also not recommended to place peppers too close to each other. In one square place should not be more than three copies.
- Do not forget that pepper prefers noble soil, otherwise it will require regular fertilizer application.
- About two weeks before planting, seedlings are taken out to fresh air. When planting, you need to water it well.
If there is a lack of light, use additional lamps, the backlight must be produced in the same way at night.
Care
Pepper does not like drought, but also does not tolerate excess water. For this reason, it is necessary to ensure that the earth around the plant does not dry out.
Also, do not overdo it with watering, otherwise there is a risk of fungal diseases, decay of the plant. Watering is done directly under the root to avoid sunburn.
If you grow this variety for the purpose of further sale and plan to transport it, then the harvest should be done while the pepper is in a state of technical maturity.
In order to protect the pepper from the attack of pests, three times a season, process it with a solution of wood ash.
If aphids suddenly attack the seedlings, then urgently treat the plants with a solution of whey (one and a half liters per bucket of warm water). After this, the plants need to be sprinkled with a small amount of sifted ash.
