Goblet - description, poisonous mushroom

The fungus pyloricans belongs to the genus Pylorifaceae. On the plates they have characteristic “teeth”, for which this genus got its name.

Goblet

They are affilophore fungi. They have a destructive effect on wood. Under their influence, the tree rots. Therefore, this mushroom is capable of causing considerable harm to the household. Another version of the origin of the name is the ability to act destructively on wood.

More than 1000 species of mushrooms belong to this genus. Some sources say that today the genus reads several thousand species.

Almost all species belonging to this genus are conditionally edible. But among them there are inedible species, of which there are few. In China and Japan, it is believed that edible cilantro is an absolutely edible fungus.

Among all the pyliformes, there are several species in which mushroom pickers are sure, and always collect. This is a tiger, conch-shaped, as well as a scaly sawlar.

It is also known that the following species are inedible, and do not represent any nutritional value. This is a goblet, wolf, and also furrowed species. The remaining species of this genus are poorly studied by science or grow in countries far from Russia.

The goblet pilgrim received part of the name because they have the property of destroying a tree. The second part of the name is associated with the shape of the fruiting body. It takes the form of a glass already in adulthood.

Fact! This mushroom is a saprotroph that destroys a tree. It usually destroys wood that is rotten. They grow on deadwood in the forest, on the stumps of trees of various species, including conifers.

Some sources say that all members of the genus are poisonous mushrooms. Others say that it is simply inedible. But it would be advisable to divide these species into those that can be eaten, and those that cannot. There is no exact scientific evidence of how toxic those mushrooms of this genus that can not be eaten.

The species under consideration is goblet pilothorn is considered practically unsuitable for eating. It does not contain poisons, but it does not have good taste, and the composition of the mushroom does not carry any nutritional value.

Representatives of this species are not like any other mushrooms, and even those that belong to the same genus. Therefore, confusing them with other mushrooms is extremely difficult.

In terms of its nutritional qualities, the mushroom practically does not meet any requirements that apply to edible mushrooms. This also applies to young specimens. Therefore, it would be advisable to classify representatives of this species as a special category of half-edible mushrooms.

Where grows

Where does the goaxifruit grow
These mushrooms prefer southern latitudes, as they are thermophilic. In a temperate climate and in northern latitudes can be found very rarely. Mushrooms grow in clusters in mixed forests. You can see them only on decaying wood related to deciduous species.

They collect these mushrooms in those places where there are remains of rotting trees that have fallen to the ground. They grow in the southern part of Europe, closer to the west. In Russia, they grow in the south and in the center. They are in the territory of Crimea, and in Siberia, and in the Urals. Also found in the Far East, the Caucasus. The fruiting period begins in July and lasts until the onset of cold weather.

Appearance and application

The spores of these fungi are located in pseudoplates. They are often located, have a cream shade. They are narrow in shape and have notches.

The cap of the caterpillar in the young fruiting body is somewhat convex, but may be straight. Her edges are tucked up, have a pinkish tint. Over time, the hat acquires a funnel shape, it can be covered with red flakes. Sometimes there are simply cracks on its surface.

The leg of these mushrooms is dense. Usually it coincides in shade with a hat or is lighter. In an adult fungus, it is somewhat narrowed to the bottom, red flakes are visible on the surface. Young fruiting bodies have a soft flesh, but dense. In an adult mushroom, it is tougher. It has a white tint. The pulp does not have any taste, but the smell is somewhat harsh.

This species is considered unsuitable for consumption. But this does not stop some mushroom pickers, and they still collect it, subsequently adding it to various dishes. But in any case, only hats go to food, which are boiled before that. Whether to take an example from these people - everyone can decide for himself. But in nature, there are many other mushrooms that are much tastier and more useful than goblet pilothorn.
