Ridovaki are mushrooms that grow in Asia, as well as in Russia. Species that belong to this genus are not only edible, but also inedible mushrooms. Consider the features of a mushroom called Mayonnaise. Where can I find it and how to distinguish it from others?
general description
The name of the species, Mayan in Latin, sounds like Calocybe gambosa. These mushrooms belong to the Ordinary family. And, as already mentioned above, to the genus Ryadovka. The people there are several more names of these mushrooms. For example, May mushroom, St. George mushroom. In some places you can hear the name of May Calocib. The species got this name due to the fact that the fungus grows earlier than the others.
Ryadovka May is an edible mushroom. Mushroom pickers appreciate her for her excellent palatability. Therefore, they are happy to collect it. According to its properties, Mayonnaise resembles russula, since it is also an agaric.
Representatives of this species have a rounded hat. At first they are convex, and then it becomes flat. The edges of the cap are slightly bent inward. To the touch it is fleshy and rather dense. Sometimes it can be curved and deformed. This is due to the fact that the fruits grow next to each other in large quantities. The skin may have different colors. Sometimes it is white with a creamy tint, sometimes it is creamy, and sometimes even brownish. The diameter of the cap is typically 12 cm or less.
May rowing leg has a smooth surface. It is relatively thick, has the shape of a cylinder. Like a hat, it is fleshy and dense. To the bottom, the thickness of the leg slightly increases. The average diameter of the legs is about 2.5 cm. In height, it usually grows up to 7 cm. It is usually white in color, sometimes with a yellowish tint that looks like butter. Near the ground, the leg of these mushrooms has a rusty rusty hue.
The pulp of this representative of the genus of rows is white, dense. When breaking the mushroom, you can feel a pronounced powdery aroma. This smell is a distinctive feature of the May rowing. To taste, the pulp is also similar to flour.
Thin plates are often located, they are very well connected to the leg. The color of the plates is also white with a cream tint. The spores of the fungus have the same color.
Where grows
These mushrooms can be found almost everywhere in the European part of Russia. They grow in meadows and pastures. Often they can also be seen in the mixed forest. They are in city parks, as well as along roads.
Sometimes a row of May can be seen growing right in the city on a flower bed. The fungus easily grows through the grass. The fruiting period lasts from May to July.
But it is preferable to collect this mushroom in May. This month you only need to find a mycelium. Each mushroom picker is then guaranteed to receive a full basket of fragrant mushrooms. This species usually grows in groups.
How to distinguish
Since this type of mushroom does not grow in the fall, but, unlike most other species, in the spring, it is difficult to mix it up with any other mushrooms. Representatives of this species in appearance are somewhat similar to some types of poisonous entomol fungus, which are painted in light shades. But, if you collect the bend carefully, then you can distinguish them. Poisonous species have plates of a pinkish tint. They have thinner legs, and the color is slightly darker than the rowing.
Also, May rowing is a bit like a hangman. This mushroom is edible, but few people know about it. Compared to the row, the scavenger is larger, and a small fluff can be felt on the hat.If the flesh of this fungus is damaged, it will darken.
Can I use
Representatives of this species are classified as edible, which belong to the 4th category. Experienced mushroom pickers claim that the mushroom exhibits the best palatability when roasted. But it can also be salted or pickled. But before you start frying, the mushroom must be boiled.
In addition, the mushroom can be frozen for consumption in winter. But before that, it is necessary to conduct heat treatment.
