This species got its name because their hat is gray. But in fact, earrings can be not only completely gray, but also yellowish. Sometimes they have a hint of ocher.
Almost all mushroom pickers know and love these mushrooms, but nevertheless it is considered conditionally edible. This is due to the content of caustic juice in its composition.
This view has the following distinctive features:
- The pulp of Serushka is dense, slightly smells of fruit, white in color.
- Near the base, the leg of the mushroom may be somewhat swollen or narrowed. In an adult mushroom, it is hollow. The leg, as a rule, matches the hat in color. Its thickness is about 2 cm, and its length is about 8 cm.
- If the mushroom is cut or broken, caustic juice will stand out.
- The hat can sometimes be gray with a pinkish or purple tint. On the edges it is wavy. The edge is bent or lowered down. The surface of the hat is very smooth, and after rain it becomes slippery.
The favorite soil of this fungus is sandy loam or loamy, medium in moisture. Mushrooms do not grow alone, but in large groups. You can see them at the edge of the forest, along paths or in forest glades.
Sometimes the fungus is often confused with a zonal lactic (but his hat is cream colored), or a zoneless one in which it is brown. In order not to confuse these mushrooms with silver ear, it is important to know one rule. When breaking, the seroshka will secrete juice, which will retain its color even after a while.
It is because of this juice that the mushroom has a bitter taste. Before cooking, it is simply soaked, as a result of which all the bitterness goes away. It should be remembered that this mushroom does not have toxic doubles.
Spread
This mushroom grows almost throughout Eurasia. They prefer a temperate climate. Most often grow in marshy areas, aspen groves. Harvested in the second half of summer and early autumn.
False earring
