Tomato Brandy pink - description and characteristics of the variety

This important event for those who grow tomatoes happened in 2015 when a new variety, Brandy pink, appeared in the Register of Selection Achievements. But before getting into this list, the variety was tested for two years. The emergence of a new tomato was dealt with by LLC Agrofirm Search, located in the Moscow region. Now in the register the variety is indicated under the number "8653771".

Brandy pink grows beautifully in all regions of Russia. He is not afraid of any climatic conditions, but only if a film shelter is provided. Only in the southern regions does it grow in open ground.

Grade description

These are pink tomatoes. They do not have an axial stem, however, it is often taken for it to be a series of consecutive shoots, or just the stem that has the first inflorescence.

The bush turns out to be tall - up to 160 cm. This fact is the cause of complaints of vegetable growers, since if the plant is in a greenhouse, then its upper part remains unused, and such expensive buildings must pay off.

The leaves are small, potato type, unsaturated green, pubescent and smooth. The branching of the plant is medium.

Ripening occurs in stages, depending on the time of ripening of the fruits on the hands located at different levels. On each brush up to 4 fruits are tied. Inflorescences are formed above the level of 9 - 12 leaves. But the largest fruits are obtained only on the lower and middle inflorescences, and the higher, the tomatoes ripen smaller. The peduncle has joints.

This variety belongs to early ripening; its ripening period lasts from 80 to 100 days. Ripened tomatoes are pale pink, still unripe - green, at the stalk with a stain. Ripening, gradually painted in a heterogeneous pink pale shade, with a smooth thin surface. Flat-round, a slight ribbing at the base is noticeable. But in the lowest fruits, the ribbing is more intense than in the upper ones. Fruits weigh from 250 to 450 grams.

The pulp is juicy and soft, sweet in taste, with a small amount of seeds, multi-chamber. At break juice does not follow.

This variety belongs to salad versions, but tasty juices, pastes, sauces and seasonings are also obtained from tomatoes. But, if a presentation is required, tomatoes should be added with intense red color, otherwise the products will not attract buyers because of the pale shade.

  1. Improper watering during the growth period negatively affects the plant. If moisture is not enough, the plant tries to take care of the seeds, and therefore begins to get rid of the reproductive part, which is especially in need of nutrition. This process ends with the dropping of flowers and an already formed ovary. There is a rapid ripening of fruits that have already started.
  2. Be sure to tie up the bush, providing support, and competently carry out its formation. For better management, experienced vegetable growers choose 2 to 3 shoots, not more, but you need to monitor the density of planting so that thickening does not occur.
  3. Since tomato crops prefer heat, it is better to brandy pink before growing seedlings. Usually sowing seeds occurs in the beginning - mid-March.
  4. When several real leaves appeared, seedlings are dived. For this, cups must be prepared in advance, the capacity of which is 200/250 gr. You can immediately use a special primer for seedlings, already containing all the necessary nutritional ingredients, or you can periodically feed the plant.
  5. It is very important that there is a developed and deep root system, and transplantation is carried out only on the condition that the roots have mastered a completely earthen lump.
  6. Planting density should be no more than 3 bushes per square meter. You need to remove stepchildren and dry leaves on the lower part in time, then air circulation occurs, and the plant will not be susceptible to fungal diseases.

Claims to grade

This variety, of course, is distinguished by its positive and beneficial properties due to its taste and vitamins, but the average yield is 6.5 kg per square meter. This indicator greatly reduces the assessment of the plant, since the profitability of the greenhouse is also reduced, especially since the fruits, which are significantly different from each other in size, ripen unevenly. And immediately it is not possible to collect all the fruits.

After harvesting, the fruits will not be able to lie for a long time, they begin to soften, which means they are not suitable for salads.

Disease resistance

Tomatoes of this variety are resistant to the tobacco mosaic virus. But, so that plants are not exposed to other diseases, fungicidal preparations must be used for prevention.
