Description

The hybrid is quite popular due to its high palatability. The fruits have a sweet taste with a pleasant acidity. The leaves have a saturated green color due to the high concentration of chlorophyll. A distinctive feature is the sugary and fleshy flesh. The true advantage of a tomato is its excellent keeping quality and resistance to long-distance transportation. For this reason, the Juliet hybrid is most often grown for sale.

Advantages:

  • Early ripe, determinant variety.
  • It can be successfully grown both in open ground and in greenhouse conditions.
  • The growing season lasts at least one hundred days.
  • The tomato is unpretentious in leaving.

Tomato has high yields. Ripe fruits with proper agricultural technology weigh 200 g. The flesh is light pink in color, the shape is round. The peel is dense, which in turn allows the fruit to be transported and contributes to a long shelf life. They are consumed fresh, but can also be successfully processed into juice, tomato paste.

Cultivation and care

Glasses in which seedlings will develop are filled with a sand-peat mixture. Until the first sprouts appear on the soil surface, the glasses are kept in a room with a temperature of at least twenty degrees. Seedlings begin to grow in the second half of March. Do not rush to plant plants in open ground. It will be best if you wait for the onset of constant heat.

Bushes are planted in open ground at the end of May, when the last frosts have passed. Cold can cause death of the plant.

When planting, it is necessary to ensure that the water for irrigation, soil, have an acceptable temperature.

In the event that the used seed is purchased, it is necessary to check whether the seeds are pickled or not. You can dip the seeds in a non-concentrated solution of potassium permanganate for fifteen minutes. This procedure serves as a prophylaxis against fungal diseases.

The depth of seed placement in the soil is 2 cm, should not be sown deeper, since growth will be difficult. When grown in greenhouse conditions, the temperature should not fall below 25 degrees Celsius. To accelerate the development of roots after the appearance of the first sprouts, a small amount of soil is added to them.

During the growth, flowering and fruiting of the bush, regular care is necessary, namely:

  • Garter.
  • Abundant watering.
  • The introduction of complex fertilizers.
  • Loosening the soil.
  • Removing weeds.
  • Trimming stepchildren.
  • Harvesting.
  • Disease Prevention
  • Removing excessive green cover.

Loosening and watering

The procedure is aimed at prolonged conservation of moisture in the soil. If the tomato grows in an open garden, then watering should be done directly under the root, otherwise there is a risk of burns of deciduous cover and ovaries.

Watering Tomatoes Juliet

In closed ground, constant monitoring of humidity and air temperature is necessary. An important point is the pruning of leaves, because the fruit ripening rate depends on this. A large amount of greenery takes on a lot of moisture and nutrients, thereby preventing tomatoes from developing normally.

Garter

Even if the bush belongs to the determinant variety, it still needs a garter. It provides the following benefits:

  1. The severity of the fruit will not bend the stem. The plant will send all its strength to the fruits, and not to combat the above problem.
  2. Having tied the bush, fix it in an upright position, which will allow the plant to freely receive fresh air and sunlight.
  3. External factors will not break the stem. Of course, only if the garter is carried out qualitatively.
  4. Tomatoes in this position are easier to spray, and this procedure itself will give higher efficiency than if the sprayed bushes are bent under the weight of their own weight.
  5. Conducting activities such as hilling, mulching, weeding, etc. is simplified.
  6. Watering will be a little easier. The risk of burns of leaves will be reduced, since in a vertical position, watering under the root is easier to produce.
  7. Tomatoes will always be at some distance from the soil, which will protect the plant from the appearance of rot, slugs and other pests.

The distance between the rows should not exceed seventy centimeters. Between plants 40-55 cm is allowed. The soil should be regularly loosened.
