Tomatoes sort Ivan da Marya are very popular among summer residents. They have a rounded shape, hard black, sometimes reddish-brown skin, pearl-brown flesh and a sweet taste. The peculiarities of these tomatoes include their color during the ripening period: one part of the fruit is green, and on the back there is a purple spot, moreover, the colder the night, the greater it is. Subsequently, from this “decoration” only the brownish skin color remains. The stems are also with a purple hue.
Also, representatives of this variety, before other tomatoes, begin to bear fruit and are very well suited for harvesting for future use. The bushes grow indefinitely, and with proper care, you can admire two-meter tomatoes for most of the summer season, and fruits collected in large brushes ripen about 3 months after planting seedlings and reach a mass of 210 grams.
How to care
To grow Ivan da Maryu, it is best to use the seedling method. You can, of course, immediately sow the seeds in the ground, but then, most likely, the sprouts will die due to spring cooling, or they will be eaten by rodents.
When the second leaf appears, tomatoes need to be dived so that the plant does not stretch, and the roots do not tangle. It is better to transplant seedlings from pots to beds, oddly enough, when lilacs bloom, having previously formed them into two stems and carried out stepsoning and removal of the apical bud, three sprouts are planted on 1 m2. Such a landing is necessary so that the branching bushes do not interfere with each other. In addition, this is a kind of disease prevention. Tomatoes do not require special care. Standard watering under the root, loosening, weeding, garter and monthly top dressing - that's all they need.

Harvest and its application
The variety Ivan da Marya has excellent yield. From 1 m2 you can get 15 kilograms of tomatoes, which can be removed without waiting for blackening, that is, red-brown. You can apply the fruits in the manufacture of fresh salads, or preservation. With them, as summer residents say, any dish looks better, and its taste is enhanced. It is better to use black for salads and preserves, but in raw form, on the contrary, it is more beneficial to use red-brown.
Advantages and disadvantages
An undoubted advantage of this variety is its high yield. Also, it is very appreciated for its unpretentiousness, including in terms of weather, the possibility of comprehensive use, long-term storage or transportation.
But there are also disadvantages. The seeds of these tomatoes can not be taken from last year's fruits, they can only be bought. It is imperative to form bushes, otherwise the yield will decrease by at least two times.
What do summer residents think
There are almost no negative reviews about Ivan da Marya. Many people notice the unpretentiousness and productivity of this variety, but at the same time they speak with disapproval of the need for a rare planting and spraying. Summer residents also pay special attention to the originality and early ripeness of fruits, and some are already conducting experiments with methods of growing tomatoes. It turned out that the taste of the fruit improves if they are grown not in a greenhouse, but in the open. But all, without exception, consider these tomatoes to be a decoration of their summer cottage and ideal for annual planting, and most argue that black tomatoes are many times healthier than red and yellow varieties.

- Natalia, 46 years old: We tried to grow tomatoes in open ground and in a greenhouse. When comparing, it turned out that tomatoes from open ground do not differ from greenhouses in anything except taste. The first ones were tastier. These tomatoes began to bear fruit earlier than other varieties.
