What are the advantages and disadvantages of Red Charcoal?
Any vegetable can have both advantages and disadvantages. Red coal tomatoes are no different from them. The main advantages of the fruits include its excellent sweet taste, juiciness, versatility, resistance to various diseases, original appearance. With one bush, with proper care, you can collect more than 5.5 kg of fruits. But in order for the plant to develop correctly, it is necessary to put supports, as needed, carry out the garter of the stems - these gardeners are among the disadvantages of this variety.
What rules should be followed when growing seedlings
Very many gardeners prefer seedlings grown on their own, as they believe that the purchased material can be infected with any disease. Self-grown seedlings give more confidence that it will be healthy and seasoned. But for this it is necessary to maintain the correct temperature regime, to provide the necessary lighting.
The seeds of this variety are usually sown at the end of March, and under certain weather conditions, the sowing is postponed to the next month. This is necessary in order for the seedlings to be able to fully strengthen, the ground to warm up, so that weather conditions allow it to be planted in open ground. Before planting seedlings, it should be hardened in the open air.
Do not forget about timely, but moderate watering. Water should not be too cold. So that there is no crust, it is worthwhile to regularly loosen the soil on the ground. This will ensure active plant growth. To preserve moisture under the bushes, you can mulch.
Top dressing is usually carried out 3 times for the entire season:
- when planting seedlings in the ground;
- during flowering;
- in the formation of fruits.
The fertilizer composition for the last two top dressings should not contain nitrogen in order to avoid excessive formation of stems and leaves to damage the formation of fruits.
What pests can harm plants
The variety is highly resistant to any disease, practically not exposed to late blight. With proper care, plants are not exposed to viral diseases. This is evidenced by the reviews of those gardeners who had the opportunity to grow this variety of tomatoes in their own area:
