The content of the article
This variety was bred in Ukraine in the early 1990s. Since 1993, it has been zoned in Russia in the Middle Volga Region, regions of the Far East, and the Central Black Earth Region. Suitable for both greenhouses and open ground.
Description
- It is considered early ripening - the fruits ripen 110-120 days after seed germination.
- Productivity is more than 9 kg per square. m
- By the nature of growth - determinant.
- Plants reach a height of 50-60 cm.
- The leaves grow medium in size and have a dark green color.
- The first flower brush is formed above the sixth leaf, once branched, carries 4-5 flowers, respectively, subsequently - 4-5 fruits. Each subsequent brush is laid in 1-2 sheets.
- The root system is powerful, largely due to the subordinate roots that form on the stems.
Fruit Characteristics
Tomatoes are equally good both in salads and in canned form. In addition, pasta, sauce and some other products can be prepared from fruits. When choosing a variety, it is very desirable to know both the advantages and disadvantages of the varieties.
Advantages and disadvantages
Grade Advantages:
- Simultaneous ripening of fruits.
- Resistance to cracking.
- Stably high productivity, including in years with adverse weather.
- Low need for care.
- High resistance to bacterial spotting.
Disadvantages: high susceptibility to late blight, septoria and macrosporiosis.
Growing
Lagid tomato plants can be grown both in seedlings and direct sowing.
Before sowing seeds, it is recommended to disinfect them, for example, in a solution of potassium permanganate. After the appearance of 2 true leaves, you can start planting. When planting in open ground, it is advisable to choose a place taking into account the previous culture. If possible, place tomatoes after cucumbers or beans or carrots or onions. Landing in a permanent place is recommended according to a scheme of 70x30 cm.
Plant care involves maintaining optimal soil moisture. Naturally, in open ground, the frequency of irrigation depends on the weather. But in a greenhouse they usually recommend watering once a week on average. To reduce dependence on watering, you can mulch the ground with peat or hay, or dried weeds. From the time of planting to a permanent place until the third flower brush blooms, vegetable agronomists recommend feeding only phosphorus-potassium fertilizers to prevent the fatliquoring of plants. After flowering the third flower brush, top dressing with complex mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen (Zdraven, Fertika, Mortar) or organic fertilizers that obviously contain nitrogen is appropriate. On average, vegetable growers recommend feeding tomato bushes every ten days.
Plant formation
It involves the regular removal of stepsons as they grow, in addition to the uppermost stepson of substitution, growing after flowering, as well as the removal of leaves below the first flower brush.
Protection
Lagidny tomato plants are considered susceptible to damage by fungi and bacteria, therefore both prophylactic and therapeutic treatments are appropriate.
- For the prevention of bacterial spotting, as well as for its treatment, the biological product Gamair can be recommended. In some cases, it is permissible to use the preparations Fitolavin VRK and Farmayod.
- For the prevention of late blight, macrosporiosis, septoria, it is recommended to spray the plants with working fluids using the biofungicide Alirin-B and one of such immunomodulators as Immunocytophyte, Narcissus, Ecogel, Silk.
- To strengthen plants, more precisely, to increase their resistance to infections, it is also advisable to feed tomato plants with micronutrient fertilizers. To reduce the cost of effort and time, it is advisable to mix biofungicide with micronutrient fertilizers, for example, Aquadon-micro or Uniflor-micro. The effect can be enhanced by the addition of a microbiological fertilizer or just a drug of the EM series, Zircon. For the treatment of the above diseases, a mixture of Alirin-B with Gamair (1 tab. Alirin + 1 tab. Gamair per 1 liter of water), Bactofit, as well as some chemicals: Profit, Ordan, etc. can be recommended.
Gardeners reviews
Opinions about the variety are very diverse. Some gardeners write that they are satisfied with the taste and appearance, while others complain of small fruits and slow ripening.
