Tomato variety Mom's love - the result of the work of Bulgarian breeders, refers to large-fruited plants. It has a well-deserved popularity among summer residents due to its excellent taste and large yields.
Plant description
The bush of Mom’s cultivar love grows to 1.5-1.6 meters in height, has a large number of ovaries, requires garter and stepsoning. It belongs to the varieties of medium ripening period, from seed germination to the beginning of fruit ripening, 3.5 to 4 months pass.
The leaves of the plant are medium sized, common for tomato shapes. So that they and the stems are not injured by the wind due to their high growth, the latter are attached to the support using nylon strips or special twine.
Features of the fruit
Tomatoes of technical ripeness have a rich red color, shiny smooth skin. The weight of each tomato is from 0.3 to 0.5 kg. Observing agricultural technology, in comfortable conditions a lot of fruit brushes develop on the plant. The tomato tastes juicy, sweet. There are few seeds in the pulp. Fruiting lasts evenly, allowing the gardener to process ripe vegetables.
The yield of one plant reaches 3.5 kg, and under good conditions can exceed this figure. Tomatoes are eaten fresh, they are harvested for future use in the form of salads, juice and pasta. For canning, they are not suitable due to their large size.
Growing Features
Tomato Mom’s love is grown in seedlings.
- Seeds are sown in the prepared soil 2 months before transplanting to the garden or in the greenhouse. Planting material sprouts 5-6 days after sowing, if the air temperature in the room is maintained at a level not lower than +24 degrees.
- Pickering seedlings is carried out at the stage of formation of 2 to 3 of these leaves. Each sprout is transplanted separately, preferably in an individual container.
- Upon reaching 50 - 55 days, seedlings are moved to the ground to a permanent place. A double transplant allows the tomato root system to develop well, which affects the quality of plant survival. The planting rate of the variety is 4 bushes per 1 sq. Km. m. of soil.
- Tomato Mom’s love, like other varieties of this vegetable, is demanding of the sun, heat and nutrients in the soil. Bushes are fed with dung infusion, compost and mineral fertilizers, alternating them according to the general well-known pattern. Watering is carried out in accordance with the recommendations and weather conditions.
Reviews about tomatoes Mom’s love, left by summer gardeners at summer cottage forums, confirm the receipt of high yields and large-fruited plants. However, opinions about taste were divided. One part of users considers the taste of fruits to be standard, another is satisfied with juicy pulp and a sweetish taste. However, this disagreement can be explained in terms of growth and care of the plant. It is known that dimming and excessive abundance of water have a bad effect on taste, while on the sun the fruits are always sweeter. Here are some reviews about the variety.

And my grandchildren are very fond of tomatoes and tomato juice.Every year I make large preparations for the winter. The result did not disappoint me. The bushes were densely covered with fruits, not sick. True, I had to look for pegs high, tomatoes grew almost as tall as me. The taste also pleased. Fleshy, juicy. Adhered to the recommendations on the package with seeds.
- Svetlana Ch., 34 years old Tver: I live in the countryside, I plant vegetables in the garden every year. Tomatoes are a favorite crop. I constantly try new varieties that appear on the market. I buy seeds in early spring to grow seedlings myself. I tried my mother’s grade love. Attracted attention by the size of the fruit, I love big fleshy tomatoes. I tried to grow, as it was written on the seeds, in terms of time. Planted in a greenhouse, there it is more convenient to keep such tall bushes from the wind. It turned out very well. I was especially pleased that the bushes did not get sick, as is often the case with us in the middle lane. The harvest is excellent, the whole family ate even fresh tomatoes and for the winter was closed in juice cans. I will plant next year.
