Tomatoes of the Pink Dream variety appeared on our market not so long ago, but have already managed to gain popularity among consumers, first of all, among gardeners who prefer large elegant fruits and plants with high productivity.
Brief description of the variety
Pink dream tomatoes are an indeterminate type, characterized by high growth. Plants of this variety grow to 1.5 meters or more. The leaves of tomatoes are saturated green, small in size.
These tomatoes have early ripening, on average 90-115 days from the moment the first loops appear. The variety is famous for its very high productivity, each bush can produce up to 10 kg of tomatoes.
Description of the fruit and their use
Pink dream tomatoes stand out for their pleasant sweet taste. It is best to eat tomatoes of this variety raw. They can be successfully added to various vegetable dishes and summer salads. The use of these tomatoes in canning is limited due to the large size of the berries and insufficiently strong peel; nonetheless, excellent juices, tomato paste, pickles and sauces can be prepared from them.
Features of agricultural technology
- The life cycle of pink dream tomatoes begins with the germination of seeds for seedlings. They are usually sown in March (or earlier, depending on the climate of the growing region) in containers with fertile soil, for which garden soil mixed with peat or humus is well suited.
- Seeds are buried in the soil by about 1 cm and covered with a film to maintain a warm, moist environment.
- When the first loops of seedlings appear after 5-7 days, the film is removed. Since that time, the proper development of plants requires a lot of light and regular watering.
- For the formation of strong stems, and so that the tomatoes do not stretch too much up, it is advisable to conduct hardening, lowering the room temperature.
- Somewhere after 20 days or a month, the seedlings require a pick - it is moved to more spacious containers.
When the air temperature is so warm that the threat of sudden frost disappears, seedlings can be planted in the ground. Variety tomatoes fruit well in greenhouses, but they can also be planted in open beds, making sure that the weather is already steadily warm. A place for placing tomatoes should have access to sunlight and be able to ventilate. It is good to use tomato beds after growing zucchini, carrots, cucumbers, cauliflower, dill or parsley - this will improve protection against late blight. From agricultural activities, plants of the Pink Dream require loosening the soil, removing weeds, adequate fertilizing and regular watering with warm water.
The high growth of plants of this variety predetermines the need for support: the bushes must be tied up, for which gardeners use trellis or just the crossbars of the walls and ceiling of the greenhouse. Also, plants must be stepsoned, removing extra shoots from the axils of the leaves and forming bushes in 2-3 stems.
The opinion of gardeners
Pink tomato varieties are becoming increasingly desirable in the garden beds, as their fruits are distinguished by very high palatability and do not cause the traditional digestive complications characteristic of red tomatoes. The Pink Dream variety is already widely known among gardeners not only in Russia, but also in neighboring countries. In their reviews, they note that they invariably receive a rich harvest of very beautiful fruits of amazing sweet taste.
- Veronika, 46 years old: Planted that year. In general, we were satisfied with the harvest; they handed over to the vegetable market at a good price. Advice - do not water the soil!
- Lera V., 39 years old: The husband really liked this variety due to the high yield and high weight of the fruit. They cultivated for themselves, ate with pleasure, dashed a lot of juice.
