Tomato Zhenechka - description and characteristics of the variety

Siberian breeders presented a very good gift to both gardeners and entrepreneurs when they introduced a new tomato variety called Zhenechka.

Tomato Zhenya

These tomatoes turned out to have many advantages, and the most important of them is a guaranteed harvest, even if the plants are in regions with a harsh climate. In this case, tomatoes can grow in the open ground, and the fruits ripen very early. And the summer season has not yet come, and Zhenechka’s tomatoes can already be tasted with might and main. And the whole secret lies in their ability to ripen quickly - it will take only from 80 to 88 days.

Grade description

Variety Zhenechka is a determinant medium-sized bush, low - from 35 to 40 cm tall. No need for pinching, this tomato does not require the formation of a bush. The only thing that experts advise is to remove the shoots at the bottom of the plant until the first flower brush appears. An average of 3-4 brushes are formed, always with fruits. Typically, the yield from one bush is a collection of up to 3 kilograms. Early harvesting is always good and stable, with fruiting continuing in any weather, lingering cold or arid spring.

Tomatoes themselves weigh about 80 to 100 grams., Have a rounded shape, slightly ribbed at the base. Their color is uniformly colored - red. The peel is dense, and another plus to the merits of the variety is that it does not crack or deform during conservation. The pulp itself is very juicy, has a sweet and sour taste. Food can be eaten fresh and after processing or canning.

How to grow a good tomato crop Zhenechka

  1. It is recommended that seedlings begin to be sown 50-60 days before the time when it will be necessary to transplant it into open soil. It is necessary for plants to ensure a good temperature regime without strong temperature differences - +22 ... +23 degrees.
  2. Zhenechka’s tomatoes are not so high, they can be planted in the soil at the rate of up to 8 pieces per 1 m2, and the yield will be preserved. The good news: most often the fruits ripen almost simultaneously, so you can immediately get a solid harvest.
  3. Tomatoes normally tolerate planting in compacted soil. In general, it should be noted that the variety was first of all produced specifically for such zones as the Urals and Siberia, the middle belt of Russia, where farming is rather difficult.
  4. Beginners need to help plants grow stronger. For this, phosphoric fertilizers will be needed - it is they that help strengthen the root system. In order for the bush to bloom as early as possible, and the fruits ripened faster, fertilizers with a high content of potassium and phosphorus must be added. Thanks to these actions, at the same time, resistance to various diseases will increase.

Determinant varieties, and Zhenechka belongs to them, do not require complicated manipulations in the cultivation and care. During the growth of seedlings, they do not stretch much, they know when it is time for them to stop. That is why time is not required to form a plant. Those gardeners who liked the variety argue that sometimes the stepsons are not required to be removed at all, sometimes they are removed in negligible quantities. However, all favorable conditions for seedling growth must be strictly observed, which means that nutrition for an immature plant is necessary, as well as its support and hardening.

Hardening is the procedure necessary for the plant to mature faster. Then this will happen 3 to 7 days earlier than usual, and the yield will increase by 40 percent. For this, it is enough to soak the seeds, soaked in clean water or a solution with microelements that stimulate growth, for 12 hours in cold water reduced to zero degrees.

Planting seedlings in the ground requires its own rules:

  1. The soil is freed from weeds, harrowed with a rake, so that the surface is flat. If Zhenechka is sown, holes are prepared for seeds, the soil should be moist.
  2. Seeds of 3-4 are placed. to a depth of 3-4 cm. Professional gardeners advise you to compact the soil with your palm after sowing - this method will help seeds grow better by contacting the soil. Until the seedlings appear, it is advisable not to water the ground.
  3. When sprouts appear, shoots are thinned out, choosing the most resistant plant, but the extra ones cannot be pulled out - only cut.

Diseases and Pests

Since Zhenechka is an early tomato, its fruiting ends by the time the sunset of the summer season begins, colds and fogs come. Therefore, the plant is not susceptible to such a disease as late blight. But nevertheless, it is required for prophylactic purposes to treat it with phytosporin or drugs that necessarily contain copper. It is also important to remember that pests can attack the bushes - the Colorado beetle and whitefly, slugs and larvae of the May beetle.
