Venous mesh on the legs: is it possible to get rid of it?

Venous, or as it is often called, the vascular network on the legs is a sign of incipient varicose veins. A similar condition is usually diagnosed in older people, but it is not uncommon even in 30-40 years old. Venous mesh is not only a cosmetic and aesthetic defect, but also a serious health problem. That is why it is worth getting rid of it as quickly as possible. Modern medicine offers several treatment options, each of which has its advantages and disadvantages.

Where to start treatment?

If you notice a thin vascular network on the skin - this is an occasion to consult a doctor. In this case, a narrow specialist is needed: a phlebologist or a vascular surgeon. The doctor will assess the severity of your situation and select an appropriate treatment method. As a rule, in the uncomplicated course of the disease, the specialist recommends the most gentle methods of treatment: medications, massage, wearing compression tights. In the event that these methods did not help to completely correct the situation, more serious procedures are prescribed: microthermocoagulation or laser coagulation.

Microthermocoagulation

This method uses high frequency microwaves. When in contact with a vein, they seem to "seal" the vessel from the inside. As a result, the latter becomes invisible on the surface of the skin. The procedure is carried out using a special apparatus equipped with a thin needle. It is tolerated quite comfortably and in most cases does not have side effects. For a positive result, approximately 3-6 sessions are required, which are done with an interval of one month. High efficiency of the microthermocoagulation procedure is observed if the venous network is not very pronounced. At later stages, other removal methods are recommended.
Laser coagulation

Laser coagulation is considered a more advanced method of combating the vascular network on the legs. It has a shorter recovery period, and to achieve the desired result requires fewer procedures. The principle of its action is identical to microthermocoagulation with the difference that in this case a laser beam is used.

Sometimes sclerotherapy is used to treat venous mesh. This is a more complex technique for both the patient and the specialist who performs this procedure. Sclerotherapy involves the introduction into the vein of a special substance that sticks it along its entire length. It is used in severe cases, when it comes to the presence of varicose veins.
