Zopnik - medicinal properties and contraindications

The plant world of our planet is a harmonious symphony, authored by nature itself. And in this greatest work, every plant, even an inconspicuous blade of grass, plays its part. Take, for example, zopnik, which is found on almost every continent.

Plant characteristics

This species of perennials has about 200 species. Zopnik received special distribution in European territory. And if in the Old World it decorates magnificent gardens, then in Russia the attitude towards it is quite familiar. Here it is equated with weeds, and the people call it “hare grass” or “wolf’s ear”. But, in addition to folklore names, the zopnik also has more sonorous names - “churchman”, “Christ's staff”, in which a respectful attitude to this plant is felt. And not in vain, because zopnik has powerful healing properties. It is often used both by traditional medicine and by graduates.

In the Russian expanses, two popular species of this representative of the flora grow - tuberous and prickly snail. The latter type has become more widespread and is the basis of popular recipes, with the help of which it is possible to cope with hemorrhoids, gastritis, severe bronchitis. Some fees are used in oncology.

The tuberous churchman has a slightly different task: it saves from colds and infections, strengthens the human immune resource, and is used as a culinary product. Gourmet dishes are prepared from the tubers of the plant and a simple but very satisfying cereal is cooked. Kalmyks from ancient times on the basis of this inhabitant of the steppe open spaces prepared incredibly healthy tea.

Both that and another representative of the family of perennial herbs is famous for its ability to stop bleeding, heal wounds and reduce temperature. Both have antiseptic qualities. Therefore, they are often recommended for use in various dosage forms in the following pathological conditions:

• diarrhea, including infectious;
• if infection of the wound surface has occurred;
• genital infections (especially effective in the treatment of trichomoniasis);
• with hemorrhoids;
• gastrointestinal ulcer;
• with inflammatory processes of the respiratory tract (bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis);
• with cystitis and gynecological problems.

Zopnik copes with the elimination of pain, which allows it to be widely used for arthritis and arthrosis. The plant also has a calming property and stimulates the protective functions of the immune system.

Areas of use

I would like to emphasize right away that not only traditional healers and herbalists took up the opportunities of the zopnik. The plant is included in the well-known herbal collection of M. Zdrenko, who successfully treats such a difficult to treat disease as papillomatosis of the bladder. This collection is also effective in the treatment of gastritis with low acidity.

Healing compounds together with the main therapy are used in the treatment of chronic bronchitis and asthma, as they provide sputum outflow and relieve inflammation. The pronounced tonic property is characterized by healing teas with popcorn. Such a drink relieves fatigue and energizes. In addition, healthy tea also has a sedative effect on the nervous system.

With the help of therapeutic solutions in which zopnik is present, it is possible to remove swelling and normalize urination. This property is often used for manifestations of hypertension. The presence of vitamins and mineral components helps in the fight against anemia, and antibacterial properties are used in the treatment of wounds and ulcers.

For external use, special compositions for treating the skin are prepared from dried tuber powder. Often the powder is used in dry form, then they simply sprinkle a problem place.

Contraindications

The list of situations undesirable for the church’s use for medicinal purposes is small. It is contraindicated in persons:

• with high blood coagulability;
• those who have constipation;
• children under 12 years old;
• expectant mothers and nursing women;
• if intolerance to the components of the composition was previously noted.

Application methods

Zopnik, like many other types of plants, appears in folk recipes as the basis for the preparation of infusions and decoctions, both for internal use and for external use. There are also universal recipes, the scope of which is not limited to one way. A good example is the infusion of plant flowers.

1. Universal infusion. To prepare the healing composition, you will need a tablespoon of dried flowers of the churchman (any kind of plant) and a glass of boiling water with which the raw material is poured. After four hours of infusion, the mixture is thoroughly filtered. Ready to drink infusion is recommended before meals, at least 4 times a day. A single dose is a quarter glass.
2. Broth from gastritis. The remedy, the recipe of which is given here, is intended for the treatment of chronic forms of gastritis. The broth is prepared in this order: the grass in the amount of a tablespoon with a slide is first poured with plain water (0.5 l) and put on fire. Boil the mixture for about 10 minutes, and then another half hour, it should be infused. You need to take the healing composition according to the scheme: a teaspoon of tea decoction is pre-diluted in ½ cup of water and drunk 40 minutes before each meal.
3. Tonic tea. Two teaspoons of dry grass is sufficient to make this energy drink. Raw materials need to be poured with boiling water (200 ml) and left to infuse for half an hour. In the finished tea, you can add a little honey to add flavor. To restore strength, it is better to drink such tea in the morning, but you can supplement your body with a drink in the evening.
4. Rinse solution. For the external treatment, a more concentrated composition is prepared: the raw material (2 l. Art.) After combining with water (0.5 l) is brought to a boil over a fire and the broth still boils for about ten minutes. When the mixture has cooled, it must be filtered. A healing broth for lotions is used for manifestations of hemorrhoids, non-healing wounds. With a cold, this therapeutic composition can gargle.
5. Alcohol tincture. The alcoholic composition of zopnik can be purchased in the pharmacy network, or you can cook it yourself if you have high-quality material and medical (70%) alcohol at hand. But instead of the alcohol base, it is quite possible to use vodka.The healing solution, which helps well to eliminate digestive problems and gastritis, is prepared in this order: 10 g of raw material is poured with a full glass of vodka. The tincture is aged for three weeks. Moreover, the solution should reach readiness in the dark. After the specified period, the mixture is carefully filtered. It is necessary to take tincture three times for 35-40 drops. The duration of the treatment course is two months.
6. Decoction for problems of the genitourinary system. To prepare the product according to this recipe, you need to take dry preparations of rhizome and seeds of the plant. The roots should be pre-chopped. After mixing the same portions of herbal ingredients, you need to take a tablespoon of the mixture, place it in a container, pour a quarter liter of boiling water and put on fire to boil for another 10 minutes. After cooling and filtering the solution, it is recommended to drink it before meals on a tablespoon.

Nature generously endows man with his wealth. And even plants such as zopnik, considered a malicious weed, can cure the most serious diseases.
